Day two of a Travis County court hearing over new hemp rules in Texas focused on small businesses, veterans, fees and confusion over how stores are supposed to comply.
Hemp businesses are asking a judge to keep parts of the rules on hold while their lawsuit against state health regulators continues. The rules count THCA towards the state's Delta-9 THC limit, a change that would prohibit the sale of nearly all hemp flower and concentrates now sold in Texas.
A temporary court order has those products back on shelves for now, but that order is set to expire Friday at 5 p.m.
KUT News received permission rom the court to record the hearing. This was recorded on April 29, 2026.
